Elegance, innovation and research are the main characteristics on which the experience of the Aulendorf manufacturer is founded, which arrives with important novelties for the new 2020 season.
In the spotlight is the renewed styling of the new Chic E-Line A-class motorhomes with a panoramic windscreen now 13 cm taller for better view of obstacles ahead, and with new furnishing solutions; it also brings an important novelty regarding the base vehicle. In addition to the classic FIAT Ducato, it will in fact be available on a MERCEDES BENZ Sprinter base, with front-wheel drive and always with an AL-KO chassis, equipped with 2.2-litre engines delivering 143 hp or 177 hp and a gross vehicle weight of 4,500 kg, with a total weight of 5,000 kg for the single rear axle version, extendable to 5,500 kg for the variants with double rear axle.
Among the options offered by Mercedes is the six-speed manual gearbox, which can be replaced at the ordering stage with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
During the season we will see Mercedes mechanics arrive on the best-selling Chic C-Line series too. Mercedes mechanics bring numerous advantages, including the high-quality cab, which will have the optional MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system with voice control and a high-resolution 10.25-inch display.
Among the other changes, the new High-Performance LED headlight units stand out, thanks to which night vision will increase to a depth of 150 metres. The lifespan of the headlights will increase significantly, almost matching the life of the vehicle (25,000 h). The styling of the flagship Chic S-Plus A-class motorhome range has also been renewed, adopting the new front end developed for the Chic E-Line while keeping the base mechanics, those of the robust Iveco Daily with rear-wheel drive on twin wheels. Improvements have also been made to the compact C-Compactline motorhome range, with a 212 cm reduction in external width and a further 20 kg weight saving.
Moving up the range, the C-Tourer and C-Line motorhomes also feature novelties aimed at improving the look of both interiors and exteriors.
On the larger models, in addition to the nautical-style island bed, a sliding wall with built-in TV holder stands out, allowing the sleeping area to be separated from the living area.
For the Liner-For-Two models, the motorhomes designed for couples, in addition to the maximum comfort available thanks to a maxi living area at the rear of the vehicle, there will be a new optional office and TV package.
Among the quality options we mention the new 90 Ah lithium on-board batteries with very high performance, the related computer and the App function to constantly monitor the charge status, compared with traditional lead batteries, with a resulting weight saving of 10 kg. A self-sufficiency package with photovoltaic system is also available.
Among the other options is the new Top-View camera system, which displays 360° images on a monitor, a valuable aid when manoeuvring and parking.
The more sophisticated style in the living area will allow you to enjoy a travel experience in a renewed environment, fully respecting the continuity of the series.
Another major point of renewal is weight: Carthago has sought to reduce it as much as possible so that all travellers holding a category B licence can travel without worries and in total comfort.
Luxury, elegance and practicality are the essential characteristics of the new Carthago range, which you can see first-hand at the Parma Fair and at our dealership from the end of September.
We look forward to seeing you!
