Heading off on holiday? Reach your destination safely, with no surprises.
Here is a short checklist of things to check before you hit the road.
- MECHANICAL CHECKS
- check tyre wear, pressure and inflation valve
- brakes and discs
- MOT inspection and insurance
- top up the screenwash and check the wiper blades
- check that all interior and exterior lights are working, and check the headlight height, especially if you are travelling heavily loaded;
- check that the cab and roof air conditioning work properly
- check the engine oil level
- check that the bike rack, solar panels, air conditioners, etc. are securely fixed..
- for optimal performance, remember to clean the solar panels
- make sure the air conditioner's water drain is not blocked by leaves
- very important: check the expiry date of the gas hoses (5 years)
- water ingress and sealants
- check the service indicator lights
- flushing of the systems
- REMEMBER TO BRING:
- fire extinguisher
- wheel chocks
- electric cable
- water hose
- projecting load sign
- make sure you have all the remote controls for the TV, decoder, alarm and any other accessories operated by remote control
